Design Build Fly at UCLA

Description:

Design Build Fly (DBF) at UCLA is an engineering club dedicated to the research, design, manufacturing, and flight of remote-controlled aircraft. Members work collaboratively to create an aircraft that meets the specifications outlined by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) for the annual Design Build Fly competition. Held every spring, this competition challenges students to apply their engineering skills in a practical, real-world setting. Through the iterative design process and hands-on projects, DBF members gain valuable experience in areas such as aerodynamics, structural design, electronics, computer-aided design (CAD), and manufacturing. Each competition introduces unique missions and design parameters, presenting fresh challenges that encourage innovative problem-solving. Beyond engineering, DBF at UCLA provides a supportive environment for its members. The club organizes career-planning workshops, social events, community outreach initiatives, and academic development activities to help students thrive during college and prepare for their futures.
